*%#!&^$!

Nice day here in Justin. We had a friend from church come over today with her two little ones. Her oldest is 6 months older than Leah and her youngest is 6 months older than Logan. It was so nice to visit for a while and let the girls play in the pool. Now that Leah is old enough to have actual conversations with her "friends", it allows me to actually visit with people my age. We no longer have conversations through our children anymore. "Leah, isn't Riley's swimsuit so pretty?" "You have a pair of shoes like that, don't you Leah?" "Leah, can you tell Riley thank you for coming over to our house to play?" So forth and so on.
Ryan and I just had Leah out in the back yard for a bit. He was scooping dog poo with the shovel. He's good about that. I never have to worry about any surprises when we come back inside...our shoes are always clean. Leah was standing by as he rinsed the shovel off with the hose and she said, "There's *&#! on it." Ryan immediately said, "What?!" Again, "There's *&#!" on it. I raise my head from my tanning towel, "What?!" Again, she repeats herself only quieter this time. I watch her reach her hands into the water, as if to rinse them off.
That's when it hit me. She had just been eating chips inside. "There's chips on it". She was talking about her hands!
Here, Ryan and I are reeling, wondering first of all where she ever heard that word. Secondly wondering how she knew how to use it.
Ryan rinsed off her hands, we chuckled to ourselves. Then Leah asked for her sippy cup. Our innocent little Leah.

All's quiet on the homefront. Ryan is at his soccer camp today and for the rest of the week. The kids and I are settling into a nice routine designed for only the three of us. I have only two or three more days with the other kids I watch, and even those days aren't for another week or so. I actually get to play with my own kids! And when Ryan's here, we get to play with him too. Last night, all four of us were out in the baby pool in the back yard. It's really that hot, and we're really all that happy to be together! It was 100 degrees last night at 7:00. Logan has two teeth! They came in together on the bottom a few days ago. If you look closely in the picture, you can see the two little white teeth busting out of those sweet little gums. He's much happier now that they've broken through. Still a little feverish, but the whimpering has slowed a bit. He reserves that for when we're eating in front of him. He refuses his own food then, and will only eat ours. He's figured out how to jump in the Johnny Jump up. He loves it! He'll jump until I take him out. He jumped for almost 3 hours a few nights ago! Logan's last bit of news is that he's sleeping for about 6 hours at a time most nights now. 6 months old and finally letting me get some sleep! At his Dr. appt today, he weighed 17.8 lbs, and said, "Da-Da" for the first time! He's been saying it all day ever since. I'll upload a video for you all to watch. It's pretty cute. It's safe to say, Ryan is pleased. Leah's developing a funny sense of humor. She's silly a lot, and likes to change words in sentences so that each word starts with the same letter. Or she'll say the same word over and over and over and change teh first letter each time she says the word. She's officially out of Pull-Ups! We're so proud of her. She'll still try any food we ask her to try, once. She tells us now that she doesn't like Onions anymore. She used to eat them raw at the Olive Garden, with her plate of olives and itallian dressing. She asked me today if we could go eat at the Onion Garden. I'm actually leaving the kids inside the locked house napping, while I catch some sun! I'm pretty proud of myself. I figure, if I can't get to the gym, i'm at least going to be tanned! Happy Monday!

The Junks

Leah just threw up for no reason tonight. We were in the living room with Ryan and out of nowhere, she threw up. She didn't cry, didn't act uncomfortable and didn't seem bothered by the fact that she got sick.
I cleaned up Leah and Ryan cleaned up the living room. While bathing her and brushing Leah's teeth, she told me what just happened.
"Mommy, I ate a burp." That's the first way she told me. We finished cleaning her up and went to the living room to snuggle for a bit. Next, she told Ryan, "Daddy, I had the junks." We laughed. We gave her water and crackers to further settle her stomach. A few minutes later she told me, "I had the spits. Daddy had the spits too." I don't remember the last time Ryan was sick.
So Leah's coined a new phrase for us. If you hear us talk about, "the junks", you'll know what we're talking about.
P.S. Logan ate pasta with vegetables tonight. It was baby food...he loved it. He's growing up so fast we can hardly believe it. I'm anxious for Christi and Tim to see both kids this weekend. It was so much fun being with Vanessa and Grant last weekend. The kids loved them and I had a ball too. Of course I had fun with Mom...that's a given for me:) The kids know and love her too. I enjoyed seeing them with my sisters and brother and their spouses too.
The junks. HaHa!
